ADL RELEASED A STATEMENT ABOUT YAIR NETANYAHU’S POST

  • September 11, 2017

JERUSALEM, September 10, 2017 …

The Anti Defamation League (ADL) released the following statement from Carole Nuriel, Director of ADL’s Israel Office:

“The cartoon posted by Yair Netanyahu included blatant anti-Semitic elements. Whatever the intent behind this post, it was a hateful image and we are glad that it was removed. ADL consistently has condemned the use of this image and others like it. We speak out because one cannot diminish the danger when anti-Semitic discourse seeps into the mainstream. It threatens the Jewish people and poses even larger problems for society. The fact that white supremacists such as David Duke and his supporters are applauding the use of this imagery should raise red flags for all reasonable people.

“Whether you are a public figure or private citizen, all individuals need to exercise extreme caution and avoid trafficking in images or language that reinforce anti-Semitism. This is particularly true for those people in public life who have a special responsibility to elevate the public conversation and avoid hate in all forms.”
